Travel The World (without leaving your house)

Have you ever read a book that has transported you to a different place? Have you ever felt you were at Hogwarts? Or on a ship navigating treacherous seas? It is said that a good book has the ability to transport you places. Keeping that in mind, Kimberly Mays from Global English Editing has recently complied a list of books that she feels represent the country they were written about.

The Most Iconic Books Set in 150 Countries Around the World is a book listing in infographic form representing, as the name suggests, a list of 150 books that are iconic of the countries they are set in. From iconic books like Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (the United States), Ernest Hemingway’s The Old Man and the Sea and Anne Frank’s The Diary of a young Girl (Denmark) to newer books like Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner (Afghanistan) and Stieg Larsson’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Sweden), the list has them all. India’s entry on the list in Aravind Adiga’s The White Tiger. To see the rest of the list, visit the site here.
